Baking /w Kath-y

as soon as Kath got to the cottage I made fun of her DISGUSTING bananas 😛
they had been camping for the whole week prior so they went bad….but she DID have a plan for them, which she executed immediately upon arrival….

Good old iphone….and even BETTER banana bread. So lets get started!!! PRE-HEAT your oven to 350F

Grab your gross old bananas (3-4) and start peeling….
……put them in any bowl that will hold them. we were at the cottage so we used some sort of lettuce container 😛

Kath was clearly not used to the foodie bloggin’ life, hence the weird look she’s giving me ..

……but she quickly got into it and began mushing the bananas and directing on which shots I should get :)

ok back to cooking….as the recipe states; there is NO need for a mixer – just use a folk to mush & mash naners until they look something like this OR to your desired consistency. Then add 1/3 cup melted butter and mix in…
Then you can go ahead and add in the 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 cup of sugar 😀 
Oh YAY! it’s the ugliest picture of me EVER!!! thanks Kath-y 😛 lol I made her take this in the name of blogdom! yep I’m clearly just mixing everything together.

We also added the 1 tsp baking soda & dash of salt to the mixture as the recipe says…then Kath took over again and finished off with the 1 1/2 cups of flour….and MIX!
you should end up /w a pretty nice looking chunky batter….so just spoon into a bread pan and shove her in the over; not Kath! the bread!!! – sometimes I’m soooo funny, I know 😀
THEN…..1 hour later; there was BREAD 😀 (Kath says it’s best to test it in the centre /w a knife to make sure it’s done)
and it WAS :) isn’t it beautiful?!?!?!? YUMMMMMM~ 
Logan thought this recipe was the greatest thing since normal sliced-bread 😉 he ate sooooo much of it! PS: no need to cool the bread, it was amazing hot & fresh out of that oven 😀
 
Overall I give Kath-y’s iphone banana bread one thumbs up…..but that’s only b/c the other hand was holding Logan. When we left the cottage there was NONE left 😀 ***Highly recommend this recipe**

Mmmm… sometimes I purposely ignore my bananas just so that I can have an excuse to make banana bread! :) In fact I have some bananas is such a state sitting by my window right now… so, I think I'm just gonna have to try this recipe!!! I love looking for recipes on my phone or computer! and Kath, or Kathy: Have you ever thought maybe going with something a little more spunky like Kat? or K-dawg? Ok, jk… I like Kathy. :)

  3. I love banana bread. Unfortunately my daughter eats all the bananas in the house before I can even motivate myself to bake it.

  4. thats today :) lol so I'll let you know. Also maybe you can tell me….is it wise to try and tackle my speedwork on a treadmill??? reason being; I work opposite shifts to my husband to stay home /w my son, so on the nights I work and can't run, I use the treadmill. However, I always find it WAY more difficult than running outside. I'm going to be doing 3 X 1/2 mile @ 5:10 …hopefully 😉 lol

  5. sorry Jessica I'm actually aiming to do the 1/2 miles @ 4:50 ….so we'll see. I haven't been doing much speedwork, so this will be a first for me.

    @Jen – that's why I've never even made banana bread before!!! my son LOVES them so they're always gone before they go bad too 😉 such is the banana-breadless life of a mother ;)thanks for commenting
