Now while anyone that has me as a friend on Dailymile knows…..
…I haven’t been working out.
SURPRISE, SURPRISE!
I know this is an athletic community but I’m not going to lie – I’ve been really enjoying my break with my family. We’ve been out almost every day I haven’t been working and it’s been fun to just rest!
Some of the pics from yesterday….

Yes, unfortunately I’ve also been staying up super late (since Colin’s been off) and haven’t been waking up at 5:30 am as my previous goal stated. <— apparently I love making goals and breaking them!
but you know what – I don’t care.
I just don’t.
Now I know there are lots of people that enjoy working out every day, 365 days a year, year after year after year but I will never be one of them. I know I never will.
I have been eating some amazing tasting foods though

I know that I feel better about myself and have a better mood when I workout. I know that I really enjoy running and racing and I know in my heart that I’ll never stop being active again. However, sometimes you just have to sort out other areas of your life and more often than not, for me, that includes a fitness break
Speaking of breaks….

* Side story – my beloved fish mug was broken by a co-worker and then my brother found me the exact same one
YAY!
I need breaks from everything that I do on a regular basis or I literally go insane! I think breaks are important and for me they’re a necessity. I haven’t been feeling it on the fitness front since my half marathon in November. I am really looking forward to starting the new year off with my 10k race tomorrow and then having my training for Around the Bay with Colin begin

Questions:
1. do you take time off or are you one of those everyday fitness lovers??
2. what’s the one thing you can always rely on to motivate you??
My family and my self esteem – when the self esteem lowers, it’s time for a workout
or when Colin tells me to get off my ass
3. Is anyone else running a resolution race/run tomorrow??
I wish I had trained for this race. I just found out there’s only 6 females and 26 runners at the 10k race!!!!! which means had I trained I could’ve probably placed….but alas I’m now hoping not to finish dead last.
