I’m a working girl…

So I have to go to work today. blah!

They agreed to put me on cash or something that involves minimal walking because in retail you’re always busting your butt like it’s a race. I actually sometimes practice my form at work. No joke, yes I am a nerd.

so nerdy I blow you all a kiss xx ;)

I can’t wait to creep all your blogs when I get home tonight as I know tons of you are racing today!!! YAY!

Thanks again for your genuine concern about my well being and your continued support of me and RwS :D I love you guys <3 xo

Questions:

1. while involved in a task at work do you ever try to make it like more of a workout?!? ie: maybe curling books as you put them away or jogging up the stairs instead of walking?

2. are you racing/did you race today?? if so, what distance? and if not, what are your plans?

3. what was the best thing you ate last night??

guilty as charged – a WHOLE dark chocolate bar. I have no regrets. I also feel like I should tell you that I watched “Ella Enchanted” for the first time and loved every second of it :D

  1. Um…no…I have never tried to make work like a workout ;) . I had 10 miles on the training agenda for today but pouring rain is taking my workout indoors and since I’m not crazy enough to run 10 miles on a treadmill I’m going to take a spinning class instead. I had a ton of carbs and beer last night in the form of pizza and beer tasting at a local brewery…it’s probably good I’m not headed out for a super long run today!

    • Nice I love spin :) I hope you rocked it. I’d never be able to do 10 miles on a treadmill so I am with you on skipping that one…..carbs are carbs, aren’t they? ;) lol

  2. I keep meaning to do my physio mandated chair sits and stands whenever I get up from or sit back down in my chair, but I usually forget. I do try to maintain my form on my walk to and from work though!

  3. I was a software engineer so it was kind of hard to make work like a workout. Though, I did try to make sure I always had good posture. I was supposed to race today but decided not to do that. Why? I will go with laziness and it had nothing to do with I did last night, happy hour with the girls!

    • lol good for you Christi :) I think it’s been great reading about how you are living for YOU right now! Glad you can make a decision and stand behind it :D you go girl!

  4. Well thanks.. you all do look so pertty today!

Hope the leg is not bothering you too much.

I am craving sugar! Need to find a way to stop it! Any advice?

    • I don’t know that I am a good one to ask about what to do when your’re craving sugar – I say EAT SOME ;)

but to be honest I’ve heard eating some dark chocolate in the late afternoon is a great way to stop them. That’s when insulin peaks and it’s the best time. Fruit is always a good one and/or doing the OPPOSITE and eating something bitter instead. ;)

      but seriously. just treat yourself!

  5. Have fun at work! My day will be spent running around with my munckins, Target here we come!!! last night was not exciting, I ran 3 miles, and had left over chicken/rice/broccoli casserole!

  6. Work is definitely a workout for me! As a sign language interpreter I am always using my arms and occasionally I am sore from it!

We did race today, our last Freezeroo series race! It was a 10K and Mike did it in 51:28 and I did it in 59:54!

  7. Hahah! Ali I Loved that you let your nerd out. You should do it more often :)

Ps. Ella enchanted is still on my ‘to-watch’ list. The books were adorbs :)

    Have a great weekend!

  8. I’m glad that they put you on something that doesn’t require much walking for you at work. I didn’t realize you work in retail! I used to, a very long time ago…. Anyways, hope you can take it easy on your feet.

Anyways, I think your braided hair is so adorable! I need to learn how to do that with my hair….and with Evie’s as well. She’ll be wanting it as soon as it get long enough!

    1. while involved in a task at work do you ever try to make it like more of a workout?!? ie: maybe curling books as you put them away or jogging up the stairs instead of walking?

I do stairs a lot at work…and often I am walking around a lot, whether at my office or client’s office. Especially lately…may have helped me drop the 1-3 lbs recently.

    2. are you racing/did you race today?? if so, what distance? and if not, what are your plans?

No racing until St. Patrick’s Day since I’m training for a 10k. Didn’t think about it as I had various issues in the past month or so that have since more or less cleared themselves up, thank goodness!

    3. what was the best thing you ate last night??

double chocolate cookies with walnuts in them. so bad but OH SO GOOD!! Not the least of which is that Evie helped daddy make them. :) Have a great weekend!

    • those cookies sound so good :) and do you not know how to braid hair??!?!?!? ior just want to learn how to do it to the side?? :D we need to teach you b/c you’re right, Evie will for sure want it done when she’s older ;)

      xo

  9. Bowl of vanilla ice cream some Hershey syrup and cinnamon cereal ..yum!

I did a variety of stuff on the treadmill today for a total of 7 miles…glad I did but then I came home and had “the runs” (TMI? ha! oh well!) for 2 hours…feeling better finally…weird.

Was it the ice cream or the binging I have been doing with the dark chocolate pomegranates I have been chowing lately? I think its the latter. ;-( None for me today.

I like your braid look…such a young thang.

  10. I think you should try to tell as many people as possible that you can’t move fast because you have a hard-core running injury. It can be a game – how many strangers did I tell about my injury today? I used to do that with my marathon training and it was fun.

    • this is an amazing idea. – I will wait though and make sure I’m really injured and not just a suck face before I start telling EVERY one……I’m not going to lie though, I made sure all my co-workers knew.

  11. I hope you are having a good day at work! I ate a lot of goodness last night … chicken tacos, oreo’s, pretzel m&m’s. It was a junk food type of night for me. Amazingly I didn’t have any issues on my long run this morning. Maybe oreo’s need to be my new pre-long run fuel! LOL

    • I am so shocked!!!! but I love that you allowed yourself a night of indulgence ;) I can’t wait till I only have “nights” instead of everyday, every hour indulgences. lol

and yes, oreo’s are great running fuel. I’m proof of that ;)

      • Oh man, I indulge all.the.time.! Don’t let my meal plan fool you … we ate out twice this week :( and I have 5 boxes of girl scout cookies on my counter right now! Eeekkkk.. I need to eat better and most days I do really well — but not often enough. I’m trying to get to a place where I can eat good 6 days and have only 1 indulgent day. This week, I had 6 indulgent days so far. I’m sure tomorrow will be one too with all the cookies I’ve got :) LOL One day at at time. I do make sure to get in my veggies & fruit though no matter what! :)

  12. Hope work went ok! I try to work on my posture because I’m always either sitting in child-sized chairs or on the floor. Sometimes I’m lifting small children so that is kind of physical, but that’s about as far as it goes. Unless I’m chasing them :)

Best thing I ate last night: Smarties!! Hubs had business up in Canada and brought some back :D

  13. oh no!! i’ve been lame and a bit MIA on blog stalking so i’m just catching up…i’m sending u ALL my positive vibes for ur speedy recovery. hang in there and don’t get too overwhelmed by wat it ‘might’ be…take it a day at a time. :)
