So my cousin Scott got married on Saturday….

I was so happy
and I know the rest of the family was ecstatic. It was the first Mc-kids wedding! As, Colin and I left them all at home for our special day. Truth be told Colin and I don’t have magical stories of how we got together, nor do we have friends so getting married alone was an easy decision for us. Our wedding would’ve been pretty heartbreaking otherwise – no nice speeches about us

*the foot pop – princess diaries
lol and I like to grab my husbands head when we kiss – it reminds him, he’s MINE!
Ya, I wore a casual green dress instead. As most of you know from my facebook, I got super sick on Friday. We’re talking writhing in nausea pain
Colin even skipped jam (that’s rock star slang) to look after me. I have been nauseous ever since. We even had to leave the wedding early….
…..but not before having a great time with our family <3

*FYI Lyndz was rocking that fascinator and I love it!
…and eating some awesome foods. I had so much pie. YUM!!

If I’m being honest I felt pretty hot and sexy in that green dress and don’t worry – I wore shorts under it
Apparently my aunt Mary used to do the same thing. Funny, I don’t think we’re anything alike…..

We forgot to take a full length shot of my dress, so I obviously put it back on today so you could all see it

* Fuzzy pics – and tousled, slept in hair = I’m hot….a hot mess.
My other aunt Allison <— 2 L’s I know! and I talked about running the entire time we were there. It was pretty awesome. She wants to run a half marathon together, with Colin and my Uncle too. I am totally down.
Don’t worry guys I promise this will be a running blog again soon

Questions:
1. what is your favourite pie??
I don’t know what my answer would be before that wedding, but afterwards it was lemon meringue
YUMMMY!
2. what kind of wedding dress did you get married in/want to be married in??
I had an asymmetrical drop waist/mermaid-esq style gown with one awesome beach slit put into it. If you haven’t seen my wedding pics you can check them out here.
3. what’s your workout today??
3 mile run with Rex and the may challenge calendars.
PS: HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY to all my US friends
enjoy your day off!
I love the love at weddings! Your dress is super cute! Where did you get it?
I am not totally set on a dress, but I don’t have a ring yet so I have time. Although, the rest of my wedding is planned on Pinterest.
no joke $23 at forever 21
YAY!
Wow, your wedding was GORGEOUS! My husband and I did the very same thing. We took off to the Virgin Islands with no friends or family and got hitched on the beach at sunset.
I posted about it here: http://29goingon29again.blogspot.com/2011/05/four-years.html
Nice, we did sunrise. Early sucked
but the sun was beautiful
thanks for sharing
The dress is cute! Sp you aren’t feeling well huh? I was off last week myself.
Ya, I have no idea what is wrong. Sorry I didn’t get a sexy dress for you
lol there was this awesome one, but it was $195!!!
I LOVE, LOVE your dress! (and hope you’re feeling tons better..)
My fav pie is lemon creme- yummmmm.
My workout today is 5 or 6 easy revovery miles after yesterday’s brutal 25K trail race!
Happy Holiday to you too- get healthy and enjoy!
Thanks
and you looked like you rocked that race from what I could see
That looks so fun! Look at all of those pies! My favorite pie? Your Grandmas peach pie!!!
I really want to go to a wedding now!
Oh and I love your dress!
Ahhhhh, good choice
I love that pie too
Mmmmmmm, pie! I also adore lemon meringue, but fresh key lime pie nudges the lemon meringue into a very close second place. Cute dress!
Workout today is a 4 mile run. I ran 20 brutal miles yesterday so I’ll be taking it nice and slow today!
I don’t think I’ve ever tried key-lime pie. I think I’ll have to know! maybe I’ll even tackle making one
and nice run! especially after that long one
OH yea…I wanted to see if I could change the url to my blog name and it worked…new link should work….
Favorite pie? French Silk or Banana Creme for sure!
Too bad you weren’t feeling well….you cleaned up nicely for the wedding though. (ha!)
HAHA
thanks Kathy!
what a fun family weekend! i think you look gorgeous in that dress! congrats to your cousin:)
Thanks so much Julia
xo
What an adorable dress! I got a nice one at Forever 21 recently too, sometimes I get lucky in there with dresses! And those pies look delish.
Today I ran a 4m Memorial Day race as my workout!
To be honest I had never shopped there before but I actually liked some stuff. There’s this adorable jump suit that I have my eye on ….but Colin thinks I look like a cougar in it
and nice 4 miler race!
Super cute dress!
Thanks so much Mandy xo
Short works well on you – it’s those runner’s legs.
Hope you’re feeling better now. It’s not much fun being at a party when you feel wretched. (Although the nausea did make me wonder about conditions that make women feel sick – sometimes for nine whole months.)
hahaa, thanks Char. It was funny. I had many more wedding appropriate dress options but since I felt like crap I needed that short green dress to balance it out
My grandmother loved it….so I knew it was ok
and the prego sickness, well – with Logan I had none. I was just super tired. Also I have some bowel issues too. AND I did a test just in case and it was negative….a little early but I’m going to say pregnancy is off the list
Looks like it was an absolutely beautiful wedding
I’m glad you were able to go and enjoy it despite not feeling great! I’m sorry that you’ve been so sick, it’s sweet that Colin stayed to look after you.
I love your dress, you look gorgeous Ali! Even though it’s quite casual I think it’s lovely and perfect for the occasion
I love your wedding photos, every time I’ve looked at them I always fall in love with the magical setting. Your dress was beautiful!
Ya, I feel like it’s been one continuously thing after another and I am getting sick of blogging about all my issues. lol I miss all the positive love of running stories. So it’ll be nice when everything balances out for me again. Obviously I’m not learning my lesson
and thank you so much for the lovely compliment about my wedding Sophie. You are such a kind and caring person
xo
So I had to nominate you for the One Lovely Blog award since I am OBSESSED and check out your blog 24/7. Your honestly about running and the pains and joys it can bring really help me out! Everyone can’t be in la la love running land.
You’re also one of the first blogs that I started to follow. Thanks for being an awesome MILF (I know you always wanted to be one) lol.
Thanks for being you!!!
L-O-V-I-N-G the green dress – people should wear more green.
lol – I felt cool. Colin bought it for me
and it reminded me of the girl in the green scarf
thanks for the nomination. I’ve never participated in one of those but maybe this time I will
Great dress! Did you do your Thriller dance at the wedding???
Im sorry you arent feeling well. There must be something going around because I was knocked out yesterday as well. Feel better!!
I did not get a chance to stay for the thriller dance but I was informed that my two aunts ROCKED IT!!!!!!!! so that made me super happy
There’s another wedding in our cousins coming up in Sept and so I will get a video of us doing it then
I hope you feel better too xo
Big fan of the green dress! Very cute picture of you and Colin and I can’t see the likeness between you and your aunt at all, lol!
Hope you’re feeling back to normal! I spent two hours in the bed yesterday while everyone else grilled out at our house and enjoyed swapping post-race stories. Feeling puny is no fun!
LOL
I know. We are pretty similar. Everyone always comments. Some people even think she’s my mom. lol
Aww that sucks Suz. I hope you feel great today. I don’t know what the weather is like there but here it’s HOT and humid. So maybe that’s what hit me.
The wedding was beautiful and you looked great!
I love pie, almost any kind of pie really
My wedding dress was very simple, but you’ve seen photos (and that video haha)!
That picture of you two is SO flipping adorable! OH MY GOSH! And I love your dress! CUTE CUTE CUTE! That’s a framer!
