I’m so tired.

Today I am so exhausted that if you told me I was at a party filming for the Hangover 3 I may even believe you ;)

We did end up going to the beach yesterday. Telling a 2 year old to stay out of the water, not to follow Rex in and proceed to fall into it is pretty impossible. I had to rescue him. Which means I had to go into the water….urg. However, we had a good time. Hopefully my sudden sleepiness isn’t e.coli attacking me ;P

I’m almost finished constructing my half marathon training plan, so I’m pretty excited about that. I’m only going to be doing the ZWOW’s this month for strength, as I don’t have a lot of time and they seem to be kicking my butt.

This is not  a posed photo – Colin literally found me like this after completing ZWOW #18 – 5 rounds in 29:10. AHHHHHHHHH! *don’t mind my dirty feet – it’s summer and I never wear shoes*

I have been eating tons of protein rich foods, have really begun to notice and increase in my muscle mass. I can’t wait to show you all the hot pics of me in nothing but my nickers ;P but I’m saving those for the end of the month. I hope there will be a noticeable difference :D

did everyone else already know quinoa was a whole protein all on it’s own?! I never did!

I’ve also been cutting down on my sugar intake. However, I didn’t want to really mention it because for someone like me, that means instead of adding a cup of sugar to this banana bread recipe Logan and I made yesterday I added 2 Tbsps. It was still amazing :) or only eating 4 lindor chocolates instead of the whole box ;)

For any moms reading along I just wanted to add that this was a great recipe for young kids to make – there’s no mixer needed and Logan was able to do everything except crack the egg and put it in the oven :)

FYI – where did my baby go?!?!?! I woke up one day and Logan was a boy!

I seriously want to get my iron checked. I’m always SO TIRED. 

2. ever have a workout that left you literally DOWN FOR THE COUNT??

After some speedwork sessions I’ve been short of breath but never have a collapsed like I do after EVERY. SINGLE. ZWOW!

  1. I’m tired, too! I’m such a baby and usually feel tired unless I have AT LEAST 7.5 hours of uninterrupted sleep, which doesn’t happen because my boyfriend is a machine and only needs about 6! I’m super sensitive to hearing him get in/out of bed, so I always wake up with him. Grrr.

      and UNinterrupted sleep is key for me too. I could sleep for 12 hours but if you keep waking me up it’s useless

  2. After my first Insanity workout I felt like that. :D And virtually every time that I finish a P90X workout.
    My favorite recipe? The pizza recipe you posted ages and ages ago. :) I love making it.
    I burst out laughing at your quinoa salad because that is the EXACT thing we just made this morning! It looks just like it! What do you put in yours? We have black beans, tomatoes, peppers, onions, garbanzo beans.
    Logan is getting so grown up!!!

    • ah yes, that pizza dough is good :) thank you. and truth be told I actually managed to smuggle that quinoa salad out of a wedding shower :D my relatives are awesome and sent me home with tupperware!

  3. I’m exhausted too – I haven’t slept with tooth pain and had a root canal yesterday. Let’s have a nap time slumber party.

    After certain spin classes I have come home and just collapsed and felt like molasses.

    • ARGH Meghan!!! I had a repeated root canals when I was younger…..I feel you :( Hope you are feeling better now. Spin is KILLER my legs wouldn’t be able to support my body.

  4. oooooh ,I must made this banana bread if I ever make myself bake. I’m awful at getting in the kitchen and cooking/baking new things. But we do eat a ton of quinoa!! Good stuff. Are you wearing the handful bra in your pic on the floor? :) My fav! Hope you get a burst of energy today!

  5. Sorry that you are so tired!! I was extremely exhausted this morning when we woke up at 6 to get ready for work, but I’m usually alright. I think yesterday’s 4 miler took more out of me than I thought! Right now while I am working, the alarm makes me get up haha but while I am on break the cats usually come and swat at my face if I am not up at an appropriate hour in their minds.

    Logan is such a cutie, and you are right he isn’t a baby anymore!

  6. I still call my 3 1/2 year olds “babies.” Someone laughed at that, and I was like, “What?” Oh right, they are not babies at all. Ok. Long runs in outside in the sun knock me out. I sit around in a daze the rest of the day. My family loves that. The beach gets more fun as the kids are old enough to not drown themselves as easily. I love my kids who just like to play in the sand. So safe!

    • LOL ya the eating….I feel you. My eating is currently on a good streak but that could change in an instant! I’m trying to do a 70/30 rule (you know how people do 90/10??) well I was at 50/50 for junk and healthy so I knew I couldn’t get to 90! so I’m starting slow lol

    • Hey Gracie :) a ZWOW is a.k.a “Zuzana’s workout of the week” she was a cofounder of bodyrock tv who left them and created her own youtube channel and does awesome workouts. her looks could intimidate anyone, as she’s pretty sexy ;) but he workouts are in real time and high intensity and over with FAST so as a mom on the go I love her :) she’s on facebook too!

  7. I’m flippin’ tired too!! I love that face plant photo — it truly illustrates the exhaustion! I’m stoked you’re eating more nutrient dense foods — quinoa for example really is phenomenal, and a great rice replacement. Also, I think that is huge news you’re cutting down on sugar. I won’t say anything else about it except that your body thanks you:)

    PS: Definitely listen to your body, and if you can get a blood panel (CBC/FBC/FBE) and do the whole nine yards, not just iron…

    • Thank you :) I know you are like the healthiest person I’ve ever “met” :D I’m making changes pretty slowly but it seems to stick better when I do it like that. I’m definitely feeling better…..aside from the being tired, but I slept a lot yesterday and feel great today!

      Sugar is sometimes I’ve been trying to watch – it’s in so much!

  8. I forgot all the other questions you asked but the dessert one. I love anything you have to bake…I do get lots of requests for my pumpkin bars and creamcheese cupcakes.     p.s Just looked at the questions….Crossfit kills me almost every time. If I wasn’t so competitive I might take it easy but that won’t happen.
