Only 7 more weeks…..

And look at me! I’m not insanely huge…..yet 😉

I haven’t been doing any thing to “watch my weight” …nor should you while pregnant IMO. However after a 65lb gain with Logan this pregnancy had me worried. I am not fit AT ALL…so getting my cardio and muscle tone back will be challenging but I’m looking forward to the whole year off I’ll have to do it :)

I have only gained 23 lbs and I only have 7 more weeks and I’ve steadily been gaining around a pound a week so I should fall right between the desired 25-35 lbs :) I know I discuss my weight a lot but it’s something that I really struggled with last pregnancy.

In other news…….

Logan wanted a rainbow dresser and being the amazing parents that we are we agreed!

Logan is supporting a freedom of rights at the ripe age of 3.5 and doesn’t even realize how much this pleases me 😀 I actually showed the lady at home depot the paint chip from his room and told her my plan and she selected the colours….I’m very pleased with it :)

The sis and I went to Niagara on the lake last weekend for the Peach Festival and to see Guys and Dolls at the Shaw festival theatre… was amazing!!!

Every year my late grandmother would take us to a show, either in Stratford or in NOTL and we all decided to continue on this year in her memory.

If I can stop eating all the peaches I also plan to make her famous Peach Pie :) a MUST TRY recipe for any peach lovers out there :)

The baby’s room is coming along. I am IN LOVE with the neutral theme I chose. It is very calming and it was nice to paint over Logan’s bright green….

Remember when I said I wasn’t going to become a crazy cloth diaper lady……

……too late *blush*

That is what $600 in cloth looks like. and I still have some more dipes that the cutest macnic gave me for FREE :) thanks so much!!!

I have enough newborn diapers and prefolds that I won’t even need to use ONE disposable :) I’m super proud of myself. PLUS, I know you won’t believe it but USED cloth diapers have resale value. I’d be surprised if I don’t get 50% of this back. :) I’ll of course let you know when that time comes.

I bought a ton of different styles and brands of diapers and hope to sell what I don’t like to buy more of what I do. Most of these are gently used OR made in Canada :) so I also feel great knowing I didn’t contribute to child-labor :) YAY!

What have you all been spending your money on??

diapers. who knew this would be an addiction.

do you ever think about your impact on the environment??

I try to. I don’t all the time and sometimes I slack and get mad at myself but overall I think I’d die if I used disposables again for another child. It’s just too much waste!

Random – how often do you wash your hair???

The first pic of me was taken this morning…….I’m on day 6 😉 haven’t washed it since Monday. Gross?? maybe but my hair looks amazing!!!

  1. You look great!!!!!! I can’t believe you are due in only 7 more weeks! Can’t wait for pics of the little guy!
We try to be environmentally friendly. We recycle and use the good light bulbs and make sure lights and water are always turned off. But we don’t really go to any extremes.
Since it has been so hot here all summer we are spending all our money on cold drinks! Slushies, smoothies, shakes, anything to cool us off!
I wash my hair either everyday or every other day. It gets super greasy if I don’t!

  2. You look great! I can’t believe you only have 7 weeks left, it seems like you just said you were pregnant. Your hair does look amazing. I usually wash my hair every other day, unless I get sweaty from running or something (which hasn’t happened in awhile). If I go any longer than that, my scalp gets itchy.
You need to post more often so we can keep up with what is going on! :)

  3. You look amazing. I can’t believe it’s less than 2 months! wow!

I had some friends with serious cloth diaper addictions. I almost got sucked in…but somehow managed to break the spell 😉 They are SO cute.

  4. Ali, you are cute as a button! Lately I have been saving my money instead of spending it! But only because I am saving for vacation in two months.

My mom used cloth diapers on me, and she swears by them! I try to think about the environment… recycle, don’t litter, beach clean ups, etc.

Most days I was my hair every day because it gets so sweaty at work, but on days off I will generally skip the hair washing routine.

  5. You’re looking great. I just love your nursery. We went with the Pooh theme for Luke and it’s still a classic (Luke turns 20 in November).

  6. You look so adorable!! Can’t believe it’s getting so close.

I could have predicted the cloth diaper thing, I was the same way with my second. Decided to do cloth, ‘we’ll just get the cheapest options’, and the next thing you know we’ve got all the cute little AIOs and who knows what else. I loved using cloth, though, wish I’d done it with my first, too.

(now I spend all my money on running clothes and gear)

  7. I am in the same spot, I was 33 weeks last Friday. Most people get excited to have their due date get close, it actually terrifies me. I have a 15 month old and I feel a little overwhelmed to be adding a second. I’m super jealous of your maternity leave, my two months off will be gone before I even have time to think. Congratulations, hope you are feeling well.

  8. Good for you on the cloth diaper thing! I’m not sure I could do it. I guess it’s a good thing I don’t have children!
My hair is super long (past my hips) and I wash it every day. Maybe if I don’t work out I don’t wash it, so I’d say 6 days a week.

  9. Looking so good!! I’m happy that you are happier with how you are looking/feeling this time around :)

I LOVE Logan and his dresser! I can’t believe you have that many cloth diapers haha, but I hope you do get a lot of your money back when you are done with them.
